Somewhere back in the day during law school I read a small snippet about eye doctors and their continued existence. Not too long ago, the vocation of eye doctoring was in jeopardy. People would go get an eye exam, receive a pair of glasses fitted with the corresponding prescription, and that was that. If they needed some new glasses they’d go get them – eye exam not required. This small little tidbit of not having to have an eye exam every year came close enough to eliminating eye doctoring that some laws had to get passed in order to make annual eye exams mandatory.
I’ll continue this later.
